Britain is broken. The Conservative Party, which I have supported for many years, is no longer the party it once was. It has lost sight of the principles that drew many of us to it — sound governance, accountability, and a commitment to the communities it serves.
This has not been an easy decision. I have given it serious thought over a long period of time. However, I can no longer, in good conscience, stand under a banner that I feel no longer represents the values or priorities of the residents I was elected to serve.
Reform UK offers what I believe is a genuine alternative—one that is willing to confront difficult issues head-on, prioritise national and local accountability, and restore trust in politics. It is a party that speaks more clearly to the concerns I hear every day from residents.
Here in Weybridge, people deserve better. Local issues—whether it is overdevelopment, pressure on infrastructure, or the continued erosion of our Green Belt—have a direct and lasting impact on daily life. Time and again, as your local Borough Councillor, I have stood with residents to oppose inappropriate development and protect the character of our area.
Too often, those concerns have not been taken seriously enough. Decisions are made without sufficient regard for the long-term consequences for our community. I believe we need stronger representation—voices that are prepared to stand firm and challenge the status quo.
My commitment remains exactly the same: to serve the people of Weybridge with integrity, to listen, and to act in their best interests. Changing party affiliation does not change that duty—it strengthens my ability to fulfil it.
I will continue to work tirelessly to protect our local environment, ensure responsible development, and make sure that Weybridge gets the representation it deserves.
